Waste Supervisor Technician

Salary: £28,500 to £30,000 per annum, dependent upon experience, Plus, Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week. 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Shildon, DL4 2QP

What will you be doing?

You will be working for Veolia but based at one of our clients sites who develop paint, coatings and specialty materials for their customers in construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets and aftermarkets.

This position is excellent for an individual looking to enter the waste and recycling world.

Manage and develop a small team of operatives. Managing day to day operations, allocating tasks and organising work schedules and delivering Toolbox talks
Planning of work patterns to cover operational hours, scheduling of holidays and cover where required for sickness and other absences.
Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
Coordination of waste handling operations including both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
Planning and consignment of off site waste materials in a timely fashion thereby reducing stock build up.
Maintenance and archiving of regulatory waste documentation
Ensure efficient escalation of customer consultations - Excellent customer service skills are essential as this will be a customer site based position.
Site housekeeping - Ensure good housekeeping and safe storage of waste is maintained.
Assist off site operational management team in identifying improvement projects.
Support with the maintenance of the Management Systems including the review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements

What we are looking for

Essential:

Previous Supervisory experience in a similar role. Ideally you will have NEBOSH or IOSH, however, this is not essential
Experience of health and safety processes and procedures
Computer literate and able to problem solve
Full Driving Licence

Desirable:

Knowledge of waste industry
Hazardous Waste Handling
Transportation of Dangerous Goods
FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence
