Job Title: Multi Skilled Technician

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent upon experience), and Veolia benefits

Hours: 43 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.

Location: Camelford, Cornwall, PL32 9XW

What will you be doing?

As a multi-skilled Technician, you will be proactively undertaking the Service and Maintenance on energy centre, process plant and all associated equipment including VSD PLC control systems with some involvement with general energy centre operational maintenance activities.

Ability to follow specific instructions and carry out routine servicing and maintenance on existing plant equipment, PLC & Automation control systems such as Allen Bradley Competing service reports and all associated paperwork
Carry out preventative planned and reactive maintenance as directed by the site supervisor.
Carry out fault finding & diagnosis on plant defects, both mechanical and electrical. Methodically diagnose C&I problems efficiently fault find and undertake corrective action
Work safety and adhere to permit to work systems and ability to compile risk assessments and method statements
Ability to liaise co-operate and control on-site contractors.
Assist site shift engineer with energy centre activities including dismantling and reassembling of steam boilers and associated equipment for annual inspections.
Must be able to cope with some heavy lifting (e.g. Boiler equipment) working at Height and /or in confined spaces.
Conduct all activities in a professional manner at all times following company policies and procedures.

What are we looking for?

Essential

ONC/HNC in engineering discipline, Mechanical, Electrical Controls or equivalent.
18th / 17th Edition or equivalent
Technical understanding of a range of PLC / Automation control systems on plant equipment such as steam boilers, feedwater systems, process plant, conveyor systems. VSD's etc.
Be conversant with panel drawings, control circuits, P&IDs,
Proven good record of health and safety performance, with the ability to write and follow laid down Risk assessments/method statements for specific tasks. or amend as required
Ability to liaise and co-operate with sub-contractors
IT / Computer literate (use of Google)
Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

Atex Competent / Qualified
Steam Experience / BOAS Cat 2 Operators Certificate or equivalent
