Overall Job Purpose:
The Senior Azure Cloud Solutions Architect will provide highly skilled cloud solution governance, broad subject matter expertise on Hybrid, Multi-cloud and associated technologies, and help drive cloud-specific solutions, services, methodologies, tools and accelerators throughout the organisation.
Main Duties of Job:
·The role requires a hands-on contributor as well as providing technical leadership and support to the team in order to manage and deliver successful solutions. It also requires a person who is able to take high-level conceptual view of architecture and drill down to produce logical and technical views mapped to strategic outcomes/benefits that can then drive an overall programme delivery plan
·You will be performing discovery workshops with Customers, understanding as-is architecture as well as the proposed end-state and mapping this to functional and non-functional requirements, to build an overall architecture/delivery plan.
·Working closely with senior business and technology leaders within SCC to shape the vision, and being seen as the go-to point for that technology vision
·You will be performing design and help deliver complex cross-domain solutions encompassing a rich variety of technologies and using a mixture of agile and planned methods.
·In this delivery phase, you will coordinate teams of Engineers and DevOps Consultants through the build of platforms and products using the latest tools, technologies and frameworks to help our client in their digital journey
* Architecting applications and onprem Apps Migration to MS Azure.
·In depth knowledge and corporate hands-on experience with configuration and implementation of Azure IaaS/PaaS infrastructure as code on Azure cloud.
·Experience facing off to a range of stakeholders with strong communication and negotiation skills.
·You should be adaptable, able to work across teams, functions and applications; you should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer focused.
·Pre-Sales opportunities (RFI/RFP), Statement of Works and High-Level Designs where required
·Pre- Sales calls to qualify the customer requirements and produce statements of work.
·Assist in the creation of design standards, policies, and processes to improve working efficiencies by use of Reference Architecture standards and templates
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
* Experience in application architecting and onprem Apps Migration to MS Azure.
* Significant experience operating as an Enterprise or lead Architect in the cloud and infrastructure domains.
* Previous background including practical engineering expertise in cloud, client and infrastructure technologies.
* Good working knowledge within the development, information security and privacy domains, and application of this within the cloud, infrastructure, and client.
·At least 10 years’ experience of working in a professional services technology role
·Current Microsoft Azure Technical Architect certification
·Knowledge and relevant project experience with regards to:
oCloud Adoption framework
oAzure Network design (Hub and spoke/vWAN Hub)
oHigh Availability and Disaster Recovery design
oAzure Migrate Assessment
oAzure Scalability & Resilience patterns
oAzure Storage options
oAzure App services
oAzure Backup and Site Recovery options
oAzure Landing Zones
oAzure Security Design
oAzure Integration Services i.e., Event hubs and API management
oAzure Data Governance
oTerraform and ARM Templates
·Knowledge and experience of Containers would be beneficial
·Expert proficiency at pricing Azure environment total cost of ownership.
·Knowledge and experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD automation using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git.
·Knowledge and experience of best practice for monitoring and alerting within Azure including the use of Log Analytics and Application Insights
·Understanding of programme and project management methodologies
·Current holder of or ability to obtain security clearance
