If you are an experienced UX design professional, somebody who enjoys building relationships has strong attention to detail and specialist experience in user centred design - you belong at Bromford.

We’re looking for a senior UX designer to take the lead for user experience at Bromford, embodying a user centred design approach to develop simple but effective journeys.

Owning our design system, you will ensure we are simple to do business with. You’ll help our many stakeholders reach their end goal quickly and efficiently on their chosen platform. You will help us build strong relationships with our customers and colleagues, enabling them to thrive through a user first, mobile best approach.

You’ll act as the voice of the user, working with subject matter experts across the business, alongside a small team which includes a content designer and digital experience specialist on the end-to-end journey of a service. You will fly the flag for accessibility - ensuring all our products meet WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 AA standards. You will also be hands on in arranging and interpreting user research and incorporating the feedback in your journeys, mock-ups, and prototypes.

We want you to take ownership of user experience across the organisation, embedding principles of good user experience, and educating colleagues around customer centric approaches to design. You will own and iterate our digital toolkit/design system, so it remains informed by user research and best practice, ensuring a consistent approach to look and feel across our digital portfolio.

You’ll develop user journeys, personas, wireframes/flows, UI designs (high and low fidelity) and prototypes based on user need and stakeholder requirements. As the team is small, at times you will support in service design, and act as a product owner to help shape backlogs and develop roadmaps. Working closely with others in the digital team and wider business, you will support user testing that would include remote and in-person testing, and focus groups with customers.

You’ll support in the development of information architecture and site taxonomy, and champion an agile and iterative approach to design, helping establish an agile/scrum approach within the business.

The most rewarding part of your role is knowing that you’ll play a vital role in helping our 100,000 people to thrive in their homes, and that our 1800 colleagues can deliver their work effectively and efficiently. For us, it’s much more than putting a roof over someone’s head. It’s about building trust, building relationships, and enabling all kinds of people to achieve more, chase their ambitions and build a brighter future for themselves.

As our UX designer, you will have:

Experience a senior or mid-weight UX designer with a varied portfolio of delivering journeys to help customers quickly and simply engage with a service.
Have experience working with transactional journeys (online payment, submit a request) and marketing solutions, across multiple devices/ breakpoints.

Experience in coaching and mentoring other team members, including critiquing work and providing constructive feedback
Ideally, experience working with third-party offshore developers
Thrive on technical detail, but also the opportunity to fail fast through innovation
Ability to think logically and methodically to help solve business problems.
Understanding of digital accessibility, specifically WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and their impact on user experience
Persuasive communication and storytelling skills, to help bring colleagues on the journey
Diplomatic; you can build rapport with colleagues to help them resolve conflicting requirements

A passion for user experience and human design, with a focus on continued professional development and ongoing research and learning.
Ability to present concepts to a range of internal stakeholders at all levels (c-suite to frontline) as well as customers
