Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a service for women with complex mental health needs. Situated in the East End of London, the hospital has four different specialist wards including mental health with learning disability, personality disorder and PICU.

We are looking for a full time Reception Manager who will be responsible for the line management of the Reception team and ensuring that Reception is safe for staff and customers on a day to day basis through adherence to our health and safety policies and procedures.

You will ensure a friendly, efficient service for our customers as well as support for the front of house staff in Reception working in their specialist roles.

To get a continual and full understanding of the needs of the Reception function, you will be expected to work a full spectrum of the shifts including a weekend and at least one evening shift each month. Earliest start time 7am and latest Midnight.

In this role you will...

* Have overall responsibility for the Hospital Reception, including access and egress within the hospital and to ensure all security processes are followed

* Manage Reception compliance with legal H&S obligations, under the direction of the General Manager

* Review and update of all relevant risk assessments for Reception

* Ensure staff are appropriately trained and carry out their roles according to their job descriptions and H&S legislation

* Conduct ongoing, regular performance management of team, through informal and formal processes as required

* Monitoring training needs of Reception Team, ensuring all Receptionists are managing their duties effectively

* Roster all staff shifts and manage staff absences and holidays

* Conduct annual staff appraisals of team with support from General Manager

* Ensure daily record keeping by staff is efficient, accurate

* Experience of managing a team and staffing rota

* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels

* Good oral and written communication

* Well-developed skills in word and excel and databases

* Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
