Bromford is a Housing Association – one that owns 43,000 homes; has individual relationships with more than 100,000 customers; has a very strong balance sheet; and plans to deliver 14,000 new homes this decade, over 5,000 of which will be built by Bromford Developments our in-house new homes contractor.

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us. This is a varied and exciting role, which will report directly into the Managing Quantity Surveyor within the New Homes Team.

In your role as a Quantity Surveyor, you will be managing the commercial and surveying functions for multiple developments, delivering profitability through cost planning and control, and contractor procurements. Your honesty, confidence and attention to detail will be vital when monitoring the quality of work, the progress of projects and ensuring that everything we do always complies with hugely important legislation.

To be successful, you will need quantity surveying experience in a house builder or main contractor environment, having a suitable qualification in quantity surveying or commercial management would be advantageous, and have a strong knowledge of new build residential development and / or main contracting building techniques. You will need to source and manage subcontractors to provide works and services, to high quality, on time and within budget. Building relationships is very important to us; you will need to be passionate about providing great service, able to work flexibly and be driven by the same desire to do the right thing for both internal and external customers.

You will be IT literate, with an understanding of software such as COINS, and be comfortable using Microsoft packages, especially Excel. You will have a good eye for detail, be able to understand the overall view of new homes, have excellent communication and influencing skills, and be able to translate complex information into practical understanding.

This position will involve travel between multiple sites covering Gloucester, Worcester and the Midlands, so you must be flexible, willing to travel and have a full driving licence. Your contractual base can be from our offices in Wolverhampton (WV10) or Tewkesbury (GL20).

As a quantity surveyor with us, you will:

Have an HND level, or above, in quantity surveying
Have relevant quantity surveying experience in a commercial housebuilder environment
Bring in-depth knowledge of new build residential development and building techniques
Be I.T. literate with an understanding of software such as COINS and strong capability using Microsoft packages
Have a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to understand the overall view of new homes
Have excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate complex information into practical understanding to drive decision making
Adopt a culture of continuous improvement, proactively looking for better ways of working, seeking feedback from stakeholders to recommend changes to the way we do things
Have a full, clean UK driving licence
