We are looking for an Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Taunton.

Cygnet Hospital Taunton provides specialist inpatient services for older adults with mental health problems and for men diagnosed with a learning disability. The hospital also provides an acute inpatient admissions service for men over the age of 18.

In this role you’ll:

Promote and ensure the good reputation of the service. To maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude toward service users, their families, staff, visitors and others.
Create an atmosphere that suits the individual service users and the day service.
Help service users to socialise within the day service, providing a variety of activities, which cater for all tastes. Assist service users in accessing activities and identifying needs.
Plan and implement five day rolling / individual programmes, as well as encouraging service users to maintain pre-existing hobbies after discussion with the team leaders and the service manager. To prepare and maintain appropriate materials for activities. On completion of activities to be responsible for cleaning up after activity.
Maintain full and accurate records of daily therapies / activities using the relevant documents.
Report and document any changes in service user physical or emotional condition to the Person in Charge. To provide with written or verbal feedback to Manager Care on the patients progress and fluctuation within activities.
Assist staff when interviewing relevant Volunteers and assistant Staff as well as supervising their work.We're looking for people who have:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a good team player
The sensitivity and energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied lifestyle for the patients
GCSE English and Maths or equivalent training or qualification, or able to demonstrate the same.
Previous experience in working within a care environment
Previous experience in the care of adults with learning disabilities and complex needsIn return we’ll offer you:
