Main Purpose of Role
As a Global Risk Analyst with Axco you will be responsible for a primary set of countries, alongside further thematic analysis and additional locations tailored to interest and experience.
You will be producing and maintaining our Country Risk Assessments, currently within the General Section of the Insurance Market Report, for your set of markets using a combination of secondary research techniques and sources. Monitoring developments in political, economic, security, operational and environmental risk in your countries, you will be building sources to ensure that you stay ahead of developing trends, the information for which you will use to write briefings and focused analysis on global, regional and country trends that may have repercussions on the operational environment.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Presenting our analysis in an array of formats, from regular emails to long form reporting, webinars to podcasts.
- Participating in product development within the team and the wider business as we look to produce additional metrics, reports and alerts to help clients understand their risk environment.
- Conducting basic analysis on numerical data to support conclusions and provide insight into emerging trends, from polling data to macroeconomics and demographics.
- Assisting with checking analysis within the team, ensuring our products meet the analytical and editorial standards expected by our clients.

Skills and Experience Required
- The ability to write reports in English to the highest standard - this requirement is really important.
- At least an undergraduate degree preferably with a background in political science, international relations or economics. A postgraduate degree is preferred although not essential.
- Previous work experience in research, including experience writing reports and presenting analysis.
- Regional specialism is valued but not essential - expertise in the Americas and Asia Pacific are particularly useful.
- Reading comprehension of foreign languages is highly desirable.
- Comfort with quantitative research, particularly with regards to macroeconomic indictors.
- Experience in country or political risk analysis or a related field is a bonus.
