Logistics Coordinator

Here at Midland Building Products we are seeking a Production and Logistics Coordinator who will use their strong organisational abilities to liaise with the production staff and sales team to ensure orders are ready and delivered on time by effectively planning delivery routes and transport to ensure 100% service level to our customers. Check the status of delivery, and promptly and professional resolve any issues that may arise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

* Liaise with sales teams for information regarding orders.

* Liaise with production staff to ensure orders are ready and delivered efficiently and on time (COTIF)

* Plan and analyse delivery routes on a daily basis to maximise efficiency and minimise costs

* Create and utilise a live delivery calendar available for sales staff to work with

* Maintain an analytical data source showing anomalies in our delivery system that can be used to implement best practices

* The main point of contact between internal sales teams and Transport Manager

* Any other adhoc duties associated with the role

* Update and analyse transport costs, using Excel to record and store data

* Administrative tasks associated with production and logistics

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Experience with efficient route planning and optimisation

* Outstanding organisational and coordination abilities.

* Strong analytical skills

* Excellent Communication skills

* Experienced with Excel and other Microsoft packages

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

* Able to effectively work under pressure and autonomously

* Knowledge of route planning software

* Able to effectively discern, isolate and remedy poor or costly delivery practices

ADDITIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

* Flexible to meet the needs of a seasonal business

* A qualification in computing would be advantageous

The right Prodcution and Logistcs Coordinator will have previous experience in a manufacturing warehouse and dispatch environment, working to ever changing deadlines, wanting a new challenge, and confident with creating and implementing change to support the growth of the company.

This is a full time position for 40hours a week Monday - Friday, but flexibility is required to meet customer demand.
