Primary objective of this position: To oversee employees, ensuring that operations run smoothly. To deputise in the absence of the general manager.
Number of reports: 4 direct. 20+ indirect.
Key responsibilities and performance measures for this role:
* Assisting the General Manager in directing daily business operations. Learn and master all aspects of the business. Will include assisting line managers
* Must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager
* Must be able to motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale
* Must have strong leadership and organisational skills
* Jointly oversee, direct and assist line managers in the business
* Implement quality and productivity objectives
* Ensure that all employees follow the company standards to achieve company goals
* Work alongside with General Manager in recruiting, training, performance evaluation
* Develop positive working relationship with line managers to ensure effective operational support
* Support line managers, including assistance with recruitment and training and keep line managers update on team performance
Minimum Qualifications / Experience required:
* Manufacturing & Assembly operation experience.
* Lean Manufacturing methodologies and implementation experience.
* Excellent fault finding skills
* Strong people management experience

* Practical, hands on approach.
* Strong communication skills.
* Confident and accurate decision maker.
* Calm, clear thinker – even when under pressure.
* Awareness of manufacturing pressures
