If you have a passion for support work and enabling customers to manage their homes and improve their lives - you belong at Bromford.

Every single one of our customers is unique. And so are you. Almost every choice you make here has the power to change someone’s life for the better. This is a big opportunity for you to make a real difference.

As a support worker, you’ll provide housing support for customers who have an enduring learning disability and or who are recovering from some form of severe and enduring mental distress, which is affecting their ability to live independently. You’ll help create a customer-focused and welcoming environment, designing and providing tailored support to customers based on an assessment of needs, and adapting appropriately to suit individual customers. As well as deliver quality housing and support services to sustain tenancies and develop independence.

You will work with local agencies to access any specialist support and signpost your customers to them, including debt and income support. You will engage with customers to build positive and inclusive relationships, whilst reviewing the impact of the support and the next steps needed.

This role is available as a 10-month fixed term contract. You’ll work 16 hours per week across 3 shifts (Monday-Friday) and we are flexible on days and times. The role is based at our scheme Normandy Place in Whitchurch, SY13 1WA and requires an Enhanced and Adult Barred List DBS Check.

We want you to be somebody who:

Is well organised, comfortable in making their own decisions and a problem solver
Will meet the needs of customers, commissioners and the wider community, whilst ensuring that service delivery is in line with Bromford’s policies and procedures
Will show confidence when articulating services to customers, colleagues, commissioners, and partner agencies
Is comfortable reporting and maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information, including the handling of safeguarding concerns
Feels that networking comes naturally to them – not only externally but internally too – and you can build relationships so people know they can go to you and trust you
Has a full, clean driving licence – your role will involve some travel and an expectation to work flexiblyIf you have previous experience as a support worker, mental health support worker, residential support worker, specialist support worker, care worker, a family or adult support worker, or something similar, we would be really happy to hear from you.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 22 May with interviews taking place Thursday 26 May 2022
