Trainee Furniture Maker, Manufacturer based in Coventry, starting salary £11.44 per hour rising to £12.43 per hour when fully trained, 32 days annual leave which includes bank holidays

The Kitchen Makers furniture brand draws upon a rich woodworking heritage and comprises of an extensive collection of traditional designs. You could be part of our friendly team, gaining huge satisfaction from crafting high quality bespoke kitchen furniture. We are proud of our longstanding commitment to producing innovative, premium quality kitchens with due care and respect for our environment. We would also be keen to hear from experienced cabinet makers and bench joiners with relevant experience, who would like to join our team.

 

This is a full time, permanent position, 07.30am until 4.15pm Monday to Thursday and 07.30am until 11.45am on Fridays.

Main Duties:

  • Performing complex assembly tasks and other duties to high standards.
  • Accurately maintaining records.
  • Working flexibly between a range of different tasks.
  • Learning to safely use equipment and machinery, including hand tools, woodworking machines (including CNC), drilling machines, packing equipment and materials handling equipment.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
  • Any other duties as required from the business from time to time.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in carpentry, joinery or furniture assembly work would be an advantage, but not essential (full training will be provided).
  • Previous knowledge of using CNC machinery and/or woodworking machinery could also be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Ideally GCSE qualifications or equivalent in Maths and English to grade C. (Otherwise, passing a basic Maths & English test will be required)
  • Ability to use your own judgement and initiative and to work in a team, as well as individually.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A proven willingness and ability to acquire new skills and knowledge.
