We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to join a rapidly growing, family-run SME. You will be responsible for setting up, leading and managing our manufacturing facility in Peterhead. This is a new role and provides scope for the successful candidate to implement and run a modern, dynamic and very professional operation, based on established lean and six sigma principles.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Setup and implementation of a new manufacturing facility ensuring the safe, efficient and scalable manufacturing of own brand high quality, outstanding products.
* Setup processes that that support continuous improvements for sustainability as the scale of the operation increases the objective is to reduce the impact on the planet.
* Introduce and sustain the most efficient processes and control procedures to maintain a lean mentality across the business.
* Introduce and sustain a production lead time that is market leading, supporting sales growth through excellence in service to internal stakeholders.
* Manage, report on and constantly seek to improve the end-to-end processes from goods receipt of raw material and components through manufacturing and assembly, storage, and dispatch
* Work effectively with colleagues in sales and procurement to manage stock control and inventory planning in the most efficient way to cope with both growth and seasonal demand.
* Undertake all PPM schedules to ensure the availability of all machinery and reduce impacts of downtimes.
* Implement and own the H&S processes and procedures to protect staff and minimize risk to all stakeholders, keeping informed of all legislation and industry requirements, you will be responsible for all aspects of safety on the site.
Requirements
* Excellent leadership, management, communication and coaching skills
* A hands-on manufacturing professional with a strong process background
* Exposure to materials such as upholstery, Woods and Metals
* A self-starter and an action oriented individual with the ability to prioritise
* Honest, reliable, caring team player
* Degree or equivalent in Industrial or manufacturing engineering
* Experience within a lean manufacturing facility at a senior level
* Working knowledge of ISO standards
* Industry recognised H&S certificate
* Accuracy and very good attention to detail
* Good organisation skills
Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:30
