Job Details

Clarkson Evans has over 800 staff based across 350 new-build sites throughout much of England and Wales, and health & safety is an integral part of our business. We have a first-class track record - no reportable major incidents in 40 years of business, and we are proud to have been awarded the RoSPA Presidents Award.

Meeting high standards of health and safety is essential in the electrical industry, and we are keen to build on our first-class track record even further. With this in mind, we are looking for a positive and charismatic professional with strong leadership skills to join our management team, supporting the delivery of our commitment to continual improvement.

Reporting to our Head of Safety and Property Services, you will be accountable for all areas of the department, as well as driving the promotion of a positive health and safety culture. It is equally as important that you are well organised, able to manage your own workload, and a good communicator at all levels with experience in managing remote teams.

Working closely with our production team you will need the pragmatism to improve our existing health and safety procedures to better support our day-to-day operations, whilst continuing to meet legislative requirements. Visiting client sites you will conduct audits, manage our health and safety performance, and build strong relationships with our customers.

Responsibilities:
•    Line management of four regional advisors (remotely located).
•    Driving a positive health and safety culture throughout the company from our HQ in Gloucester and across our network of 21 regional branches.
•    Assisting, advising, and coaching operational managers to ensure they can achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the business objectives safely.
•    Conducting incident investigations to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
•    Auditing and reporting on health and safety performance.
•    Constantly assessing opportunities for health and safety improvements and sharing best practice across the organisation.

Required Skills and Attributes:
•    NEBOSH / NCRQ Diploma or NVQ5 (or equivalent).
•    Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
•    A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations.
•    A full driving licence and willingness to travel to our branches and sites around the country when required.

Experience:
•    Proven experience in a similar health and safety role, with an excellent understanding of the construction industry.
•    Proven track record of delivering companywide improvement projects.

Applications will close as soon as sufficient applications have been received.
