We are currently recruiting for a Mental Health Act Administrator to support the MHA Lead in ensuring the legal requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone, which offers a range of secure mental health services for men and women in a purpose-built therapeutic environment.

You’ll be working 15 hours a week, 2 days per week (Wednesday and Thursday, between 9am and 5pm - please note days are not flexible).

Your day-to-day...

Support the Mental Health Act Administrator Lead with mental health act administration and support in their absence
Attend daily safety huddle to hand over any MHA administration items that need completing by the wards
Arrange Independent Hospital Manager hearings
Support with applying and setting up Mental health tribunals
Liaising with MDT to ensure necessary MHA paperwork/ reports are received in time
Communicate with externals such as tribunal service, care coordinators
Arrange mental health act assessments
Support with audits
Scrutinise section papers
Ensure patient rights are completed within the required deadlinesWe are looking for people with:

Previous administration experience including report preparation, organising meetings, liaising with customers/clients
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) with qualifications in English and Maths
Exceptional organisational skills
Experience of working in a Healthcare environment alongside medical practitioners is desirable
Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA 1983) is desirable
Knowledge of compliance and auditing systems required by regulatory bodies (CQC) is desirableIn return, you’ll receive a competitive salary and a range of benefits including:
