Business Analyst - Information Systems - 12 month contract

FTE £40,000pa / £25,142 Pro Rata

Are you looking for a new Analyst role and have strong analytical skills to identify and implement opportunities to improve business processes? Do you have a Business Analyst qualification such as BRP / Six Sigma?

Main Duties:

The purpose of this role is to identify and implement opportunities to improve business processes in alignment with the firm's business plan, which identifies a number of areas where process solutions (usually, but not always, technology led) are required.

Department: Information Systems

Reports to: IT Manager

The Business Analyst will work closely with the Head of Departments and other business leaders to obtain a strong understanding of the current working practices and technology tools so that analysis can be conducted and solutions recommended to improve processes, realise efficiency's, reduce costs and enhance engagement with clients and prospects, in alignment with the companies business plan.

This will involve:

Reviewing and understanding departmental and firm wide business objectives.

Researching and designing solutions to achieve business objectives, as set out in the business plan, by enhancing our use of existing technology or introducing new technology as appropriate

Analysing the working practices to determine how they currently operate departmentally and company wide.

Identifying any problems with the current business processes.

Adopting a firm wide approach wherever possible rather than proposing different solutions for different departments.

Presenting potential solutions, identifying potential benefits, costs and risks.

In addition, the role will:

Oversee the implementation of approved process improvements / new solutions.

Define business success criteria to ensure any process improvement / new solution meets the business requirement.

Periodically review revised processes and implemented solutions to ensure benefits continue to be realised.

What skills are required?

Excellent research and analytic skills

In-depth knowledge of data modelling techniques

Working knowledge of relevant business management principles

Personal Skills Required

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to turn complex concepts into simple language.

Confidence to deal with senior fee earners on a one-to-one basis with a combination of tact and firmness.

Qualifications/education required

Business Analyst qualification ideally BPR and or Six Sigma / Project Management and Business Analysis knowledge. Professional Services background is preferred.
