Description
Seeking individuals who have processed FOI and SAR responses to support in clearing a backlog and improving existing process. Specialist knowledge and experience is critical. Candidates MUST have experience in at least one of these areas.
Role Purpose:
Acting as the main contact for members of the public who make requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or Data Protection Act 1998.
As a co-ordinator, this role ensures that all FOI(Freedom of Identity) requests are accurately and fully recorded onto the FOI database and tracks their progress and responded to, ensuring deadlines are met.
The role is also a key liaison with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Key Accounatabilities and Duties:
Ensure all FOI EIR and DPA subject access requests are requests are handled from receipt to response in the strictest accordance with the FOI EIR and DPA legislation.
Ensure all FOI/EIR requests and Data Protection Act requests, received by the complaint resolution team are logged onto the CRM system so they can be managed by the relevant service area
Ensure that FOI/EIR requests and DP requests received by any medium are managed effectively and responded to within the statutory time limit (20 days for FOI and 40 days for DPA)
Log all FOI/EIR requests, DP requests and enquiries onto the system and ensure they are referred through the system to the correct service area
Act as the first point of contact for any customer making an enquiry into the complaint resolution team - signposting the customer correctly if they require another service or logging the complaint directly onto the system. When necessary meet members of the public in Access Croydon to collect documents/ assist with requests
Quickly assimilate information provided and accurately process this information liaising with Heads of service and Directors where appropriate
Ensure service managers respond to FOI/EIR requests within the stipulated legal time-frames in an efficient and polite manner
Quality-check responses from service areas and where needed, refer back for further clarification or information
Ensure that all relevant service areas are clear about their responsibilities in responding to FOI/EIR and DP requests within a specified deadline
Co-ordinate and track replies where responses are required from multiple service areas or multiple organisations
Receive and process all FOI/EIR and DP requests from the public, media, commercial and other organisations including those of a highly complex, sensitive and contentious nature
