Job Details
Our valued Medical client based in Solihull is looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly organised individuals to work within their Medical Call Centre delivering excellent Customer Service in line with their Core values. The role is working in a fast-paced call centre environment and this role is offered on a full time or a P/T working week on a temporary – permanent basis. If you do not have a medical background then experience of working within a call centre would be desirable.
Responsibilities
- Answering high volume calls from patients, in an efficient and courteous manner, putting patients at ease and providing clear concise information.
- Take clear and concise notes of patient interactions ensuring they are documented accurately.
- After appropriate training, triage patient calls using a variety of questioning techniques in order to develop a full picture of the nature of the patient’s problem and signpost the patient to the appropriate care.
- Identify potentially serious problems and bring those to the immediate attention of the correct clinician; i.e. Roving GP; triage Nurse Practitioner etc.
- For less serious problems negotiate with the patient and identify an appropriate timeframe for them to be seen, and the appropriate professional to see them.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with all direct team members, clinicians and recognise healthcare professionals in the practice as a scarce resource to be used appropriately.
- Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the services provided in the practice and in the wider health community; be able to use this knowledge to guide the patient to the service, which is most likely to meet their needs, whether inside or outside the practice.
- Deal appropriately with instructions and queries from clinicians and outside agencies.
- Following practice standard operating procedures.
- Dealing with patient requests received online.
- Responding to email requests received by the partnership.
Requirements
- Excellent IT skills.
- Provide excellent customer care, acting as the practice advocate.
- To be self-aware demonstrating resilience in the face of challenging situations.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A degree of flexibility.
- Experience of working within a Medical environment is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent telephony skills and experience of working in a call centre.
- The ability to problem solve and think ‘outside the box’.
