Description
The successful Senior Transport Coordinator will report directly into the Depot Manager and will be responsible for the following areas:
Coordination within a multi-drop environment
Liaising directly with 3rd party transport suppliers
Assist in negotiating rates with both customers and transport providers
Focus on providing efficiency's within the transport network, in order to maximise profits
Good Knowledge of carrying out visual safety checks of the fleet within strict guidelines
Aim to plan loads in the most profitable way, but driving efficiency's.
Supporting the Depot Manager at all times
Resolving service related queries and invoicing/charge queries on behalf of the Customer and with the support of customer services.
Management of operational staff, and personal development of the teamProfile
The ideal candidate for the Senior Transport Coordinator vacancy will have the following skills and experience:
Have a logistics distribution and supply chain background
CPC National / International Qualification desirable
Have previously managed a small size fleet desirable
Experience of working within Haulage, or fast pace environments, Advantageous
Ability to commute within the wider Sheffield area.
Proficient with IT and Transport Management Systems.
Experience of working to strict deadlines in a time critical logistics environment
Experience in managing a team within the logistics sector Job Offer

£25,000 - £27,000 (Dependent on Experience)
