My client, a highly successful civil engineering contractor specialising in railway engineering is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager / CRE to join their expanding team in West Yorkshire.

My client, a primary contractor to Network Rail delivers a diverse range of projects from earthworks and embankment stabilisation schemes to major structural projects such as footbridge replacements and bridge refurbishments.

Candidate Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager (Design) you will be responsible for the coordination of permanent and temporary works design and the interface with the construction teams. Working on framework contracts on the Eastern Route for our client Network Rail, projects will include a wide variety of design and build schemes including structures, earthworks and drainage disciplines.
Working with our Engineering Team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of technical and engineering activities. Reviewing and approving design submissions, liaising with design consultants and our in-house delivery teams, and contributing to monthly meetings with our client's project team to progress design projects to a successful conclusion.
A key function of the role will be reviewing sub-contract designer's deliverables to ensure designs fulfil the clients remit and comply with the standards and regulations applicable to the contract, considering constructability, third party interfaces and Safe by Design principles. Knowledge of railway standards and demonstrable experience delivering projects in a rail environment is essential. Ideally the candidate will have been approved in CRE roles previously, and hold a relevant engineering qualification.Candidate Requirements:

Able to demonstrate 10 years previous experience of on site construction work in a managerial role within the UK rail sector
Clear and effective communication skills
Excellent organisational skills
