My client are a national 3PL business, who work on numerous established household name contracts, throughout the UK. They are looking to expand their transport team in Wakefield, by appointing a Transport Planner to join their thriving business.

My client are a national 3PL business, who work on numerous established household name contracts, throughout the UK. They are looking to expand their transport team in Wakefield, by appointing a Transport Planner to join their thriving business.
Description
The successful Transport Planner will report directly into the Transport Planning Manager and help oversee and challenge both operational and strategic objectives. You will also be responsible for the following:
Ensure that OTIF is adhered to
Annually reduce Subcontractor spend
Ensure effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources
Ensure customer requirements are administered efficiently
Complete periodic reviews of the delivery schedule
Ensure all fleet assets are serviced and MOT checks are carried out
Analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements
Promote effective and efficient standards of work
Uphold highest standards of Health & Safety
Prepare and submitting various KPI reports
Improve efficiencies, such as MPG
Manage tachograph infringements to full compliance
Support driver recruitment, training and retentionProfile
The successful Transport Planner will be from a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background, and have the following:
Experience of working within a busy multiuser Planning function (1+ Year)
Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Knowledge of transport systems (ESS,ESP, PARAGON OR DPS)
Able to develop and enhance stakeholder relationships
Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills.
