JOB TITLE: Health & Safety Officer

LOCATION: Honiton

SALARY: Up to £36,000 Dependant on Experience

HOURS: Monday to Friday 8am - 5:00pm

BENEFITS: 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays ,Up to 10% Bonus, 6% Contributory Pension from Company.

THE ROLE: The key focus of this role is to provide competent health and safety advice, and to ensure that the company and all contractors are conforming to relevant legislation and best practice, whilst promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging continuous improvement across all work activities.

Duties will include:

Providing employees and sub-contractors with health and safety advice and maintain good level of legal awareness and operational understanding.
Providing guidance and advice on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders.
Collaborate with managers and contractors to improve safety, health and environmental compliance.
Undertake site audits of operational teams and contractors to monitor compliance and identify learning and improvement actions.
Conducting internal audits and inspections as required to ensure general compliance with company policies and procedures.
Undertaking investigations and providing good quality reports to assist in the establishment of the root causes and preventative measures.
Deliver training and coaching sessions including toolbox talks and Health & Safety inductions, where appropriate.
Undertaking Health & Safety Risk Assessments in respect of the work processes and ensuring implementation of agreed risk control measures and working with managers to develop safe systems of work.
Conduct Contractor and supplier health and safety assessments for tender and continued assessment.
Undertake quality audits and support business in preparing for ISO and other quality standards if required.
Serve as a member of the Safety Committee.We would love to hear from candidates who have:

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety.
Experience in a similar role
Be an engaging, communicative individual able to liaise at all levels of a business and work with a collaborative approach to HSE.
Knowledge of appropriate H&S management software tools.
Experience of coaching and training would be an advantage.Key skills & Attributes:

Ability to collaborate, coach and build relationships.
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to engage and influence others to encourage behavioural safety.
Self-starter with a focus on solving problems and providing solutions.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in MS Software suite.
