Financial Accountant

My client is looking for a Financial Accountant that can respond well to change and help achieve ambitions. You will have a "get up and go" attitude, strong work ethic and appetite to make a real, tangible impact.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements and dealing with external financial reporting requirements. You will be responsible for liaising with the external auditors and tax advisors ensuring compliance and legislation. You will also be involved in month end reporting requirements and maintaining SOX reports, running queries ensuring the company is compliant with policies and procedures.

Prepare financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries
Be the main point of contact for external auditors and provide the data requested
Prepare tax computations for the company and ensure compliance with tax requirements
Keep up to date with changes in statutory legislation UK GAAP IFRS and US GAAP
Keep records of all leasing transactions using the company's dedicated software AMT
Post all adjustments pushed down from corporate accounting team in the US and ensure correct mapping
Reconcile inventory accounts each month and follow up on reconciling differences
Account for inventory movements and be responsible for inventory reporting for the UK business
Prepare monthly intercompany profit adjustments (ICP adjustments) and reconcile
Prepare monthly intrastat returns and quarterly VAT returns
Deal with company secretarial filings
Ensure compliance of the company with the Corporate SOX controls review
Assist in the continual review, development and implementation of improvement
Involvement in Ad Hoc projects to improve the general finance function
Setting up processes and systems for the accounting in new Spin entities
Prepare monthly revenue recognition documentation for circulation to the US corporate accounting team To To be successful in this role you'll be:
ACA or ACCA qualified
Proficient in MS Excel
Experienced in preparation of statutory accounts for large companies.
Good working knowledge of UK tax requirements VAT and corporation tax
Hardworking and target focused
A problem solver who seeks to resolve problems and works under their own initiative
