Class 1 Drivers

Monday to Friday - 5AM start time (10 - 12 hours shift)
£21 per hour after 8.5 hours is £26.25 per hour
Monday to Friday - 7PM start time (10 - 12 hours shift)
£22 per hour after 8.5 hours is £27.75 per hour

We are currently looking for Class 1 Drivers for one of UK's largest fashion retailers to join their team. Their site is based in Welham Green, which is one of the largest in their network!
As a HGV 1 driver, your key responsibilities are collection and delivery of general merchandise goods (clothing and textiles), using a commercial motor vehicle meeting company, customer and legislative requirements. Most of the merchandise is on clothes rails, cages or pallets. You will be delivering to either a superstore or other depots.
Class 1 Driver duties:
o To follow customer specific procedures
o To report any defect as soon as reasonably practicable using the defect reporting procedures
o To work according to the Safe Systems Of Work (SSOW) at all times and follow manual handling instructions
o To tip and reload trailers at stores
o To ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently as set out in the company polices, processes and procedures
.o Secure loads effectively and ensure loads are within the weight limit Skills/Experiences:
o Valid C + E Driver's Licence (Maximum 6 points, no drink driving or mobile phone convictions)
o Ability and Flexibility to work shifts
o Minimum 6 months previous experience of driving LGV vehicles
o You will be required to pass a driving assessment which also includes a Highway Code and Theory test
o Knowledge of geographical area
o Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
o Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions
o Good numerical and literacy skills
o Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and/or lifting, in line with Health & Safety regulations
