Our client is one of the UK's leading family safety charity whose mission is to reduce serious accidental injuries through the exchange of life-enhancing skills & knowledge. They have been at the heart of accident prevention in the UK and around the world for over 100 years.

They are currently seeking an Events and Project Coordinator to join their busy Edinburgh team to develop, promote and deliver occupational and road safety projects, events, policies, network, members and services in Scotland.

In this role, you will work closely with other road safety teams to deliver, develop, and promote the annual road safety work programme in Scotland whilst also contributing to the development and maintenance of appropriate health and safety policies, websites and associated social media activity. In addition, you will be responsible for developing, organising and delivering committee meetings, events and seminars to promote their work and you will provide guidance and advice to appropriate partnerships/networks in Scotland.

It is envisaged that the role will, on average, involve 21 hours per week on road safety and 14 hours per week on occupational safety policy.

The successful candidate will ideally be qualified to degree/professional diploma level and have experience in occupational or road safety (or in an allied or appropriate field). Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role (including the ability to develop web and social media content) as is the ability to act as both a group facilitator and in a secretarial capacity. Project management skills and experience of organising, marketing and running events/seminars would also be an advantage

Qualifications:

Higher education preferred including passes in English and Maths

Active membership of an appropriate professional body

Skills and Previous Experience: (required to perform duties satisfactorily)

· Experience in occupational safety or road safety or in an allied and appropriate field

· Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including for the development of web and social media content

· Good interpersonal skills

· Ability to work on own initiative and as a team member

· Full clean driving licence

· Ability to act as group facilitator and in a secretarial capacity

· Experience in organising, marketing and running events, conferences and seminars

· Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key contacts

· Skills in project development, implementation and management

This role will involve hybrid working, and this role will therefore be part office/part home-based.

A full driving licence is a preferred.
