I have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to work for a global transport & logistics company based in Manchester. The company provides road, sea, air & rail freight services to its clients around the world. The role is office based and requires occasional travel to existing and potential new clients.
Purpose:
The objective of the position is to acquire new clients with a minimum freight spend potential of £3m. You will be required to build a 3-year strategic business plan, with the potential to increase revenue by £10m in their core markets, you will do this by:
Strategic business development
Driving increased revenue and profit to achieve the company's ambitious growth targets
Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with targeted large blue-chip clients, and other key stakeholders internally and externally
Analysis of market trends that will support business development within our network
Daily duties:
To meet and exceed New Business Revenue target
To develop comprehensive account plans and customer engagement strategies for key accounts within your portfolio.
Manage, retain, and develop an existing client portfolio
To forecast accurately by documenting all activity and stage progression in Microsoft Dynamics.
Develop manage and maintain a target list of major clients with a revenue potential of £3m plus.
To be deeply involved with sales process and metrics to drive revenue attainment
To work in partnership with Customer Services and Market Management to ensure smooth implementation of new business and the on-going retention of your client portfolio
Meet KPIs set within the role
Contribute to the business intelligence on competitor strategy
To be a product expert within the defined verticals and to contribute to the sector development strategy
Provide reports and data as requested
To analyse performance for service and operations against agreed customer SLA's and make recommendations and deliver long term improvement.
Requirements:
Experience in successfully attaining and managing major blue-chip companies with a minimum potential freight revenue of £3m plus.
Experience in of managing an existing client portfolio whilst successfully achieving a new business revenue target.
Target driven and experience of achieving and exceeding business objectives
Ability to understand financial, commercial and customer driven targets and objectives
Confident with the ability to challenge poor performance and deliver marked change for customers
Confidence and experience in negotiating at a senior level
High Level Tender Response Experience
Positive & Self Motivated
Strong Negotiator
Relationship Building
Salary:
£45,000 plus (depending on experience) with car allowance of £8,000+ working 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri, OTE bonus plus extensive benefits package.
