SMT Engineer - Lates

Job Title: SMT Operative - Nights

Location: Eastbourne

This role will be part of the Manufacturing team feeding into the PCA department and reporting to the Team Leader for this area .The successful applicant will be responsible for the setup of Machines, monitoring production output to company standards and maintenance as required .

Role and Responsibilities

Set up and maintain automatic pick and place machines (Surface Mount Technology)
Complete first stage of pre circuit assembly
Complete quality inspection of product
Ensure 100% proof check is completed
Highlight issues to Technical team and support to resolve any issues as required
Ensure that the working area is kept tidy in accordance with the 6S principles, including weekly audit schedule.
Work/support in other cells when required
Assist team members with training when required
Participate in daily SIM team meetings to raise and resolve any area improvements and quality issues Skills and Experience

Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment essential
Surface Mount Technology experience essential
Machine pick and place experience desirable
Experience of surface mount set ups desirable
Experience of working with electronics components desirable
Experience of using splicing tools and processes desirable
Experience of working under microscopes desirable
An attention to detail and quality mind-set
Flexible work approach and a willingness to work in other manufacturing areas
Ability to follow procedures
Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and technical instructions
Good manual dexterity/ Good fine motor skills
Approachable, adaptable, rigorous, ability to work on own initiative
Have a responsible approach to H&S of themselves and others
