Here at The AA we are about to embark on a very exciting journey!

We are about to open up our very own AA Autocentre based in Dartford and we are looking for someone to join us on this journey and make it a success.

What will I be doing?

* Effectively undertake all forms of mechanical and electrical repair and replacement on the wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles that pass through the Centre

* Maintain consistent levels of quality in the Centre by carrying out quality control inspections including MOT quality control, highlighting areas of concern and by use of good people management skills particularly in the area of mentoring and coaching, correct any problems or issues that arise.

* Maintain a detailed and comprehensive understanding and knowledge of developments in the motor industry through self-learning and by attending, as directed, training courses and lectures and apply such knowledge in the Centre by trouble shooting and resolving difficult jobs highlighted by the Centre staff.

* Undertake in accordance with manufacturer instructions, servicing on a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles, highlighting to the customer with a view to resolving any problem areas that fall outside the scope of the service.

* Ensure that all vehicles are handed back to customers in accordance with the AA’s customer care guidelines and that the appropriate administrative tasks are accurately and timely completed.

* Assist with the day to day running of the Centre, supporting the Centre Manager at the front of house and be fully conversant with all financial handling, banking, and recording procedures, resolving any issues raised by staff and customers to a satisfactory conclusion.

What do I need?

You will be customer focused with experience in a similar role as a master/senior mechanic. Ideally you will hold an NVQ level 3 or 4 in vehicle maintenance but you will have proven knowledge and skills in diagnostics, advanced electrics, secondary electrics, chassis, suspension, brakes, multiplexing and air bags, transmission and final drive, air conditioning, fault-finding and repairs, emissions testing, high-speed diesels, and engine re-build.

We require all our employees to hold a full UK driving license with 6 points or less on it.
