A 12 month FTC role, based by Manchester City Centre, working within the Higher Education sector.
Client Details
Our client is a large and welcoming not for profit community working in the finance team within the University. The University strives to welcome and fuel opportunities for staff to reach and achieve their personal and professional goals.
Description
The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;
Work with the Heads of Function to develop their financial awareness and to drive appropriate actions
Working closely with the Head of Department and Heads of Functions in all financial planning, budget and forecast processes and consolidate results for their areas
Prepare and review the monthly management accounts, insightful management information and financial analysis to deliver to deadlines
Working with the Functional teams, to develop a clear understanding of the drivers of business performance to enhance financial forecasting and decision making
Supervise members of the Faculty Finance Team and being involved in line management and training of the whole team
Produce monthly and other ad hoc financial reports and ensure they are distributed to their relevant Budget Holder
Oversee preparation and inputting of journals onto Oracle Financials, the University's accounting systems
Perform associated miscellaneous duties as determined by the Head of.
Seek opportunities to consistently improve procedures as necessary to support the business activitiesProfile
The successful candidate must possess the following skill set and experience;
Possess recognised CCAB professional accountancy qualification or equivalent
Strong analytical skills
Strong IT skills
Management skills and development of staff
Significant experience of working in accounts preparation role, skills to produce meaningful financial reports
Working within a large, complex organisation within finance, demonstrating ability to work collaboratively and proactively across organisational boundariesJob Offer

Offering between £32,500 and £41,00 per annum
