Residential Support Worker based in Rochdale (OL11 5DP) offering an attractive salary plus benefits.

  • Residential Support Worker position including paid sleepover allowance £22,592 - £28,090 pro rata per year dependent on experience and hours worked

We are looking to recruit a number of motivated, enthusiastic and committed Residential Support Workers to join a friendly child focused organisation that is leading the way in providing innovative quality care and support.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure check (cost met by employer) and full references will be taken.

To comply with Children Homes Regulations applicants must be aged 23 or over. (These roles are exempt from the Employment Equality (Age) Regulation 2006.

You must hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent with experience of working in a childcare setting.

It is desirable applicants hold a full driving licence and have use of a car with business insurance to enable transporting young people to school and other activities.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • You will work as part of a team to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the young people in our care and ensure positive outcomes are achieved.
  • You will be expected to complete all household chores and must be able to accurately record information, demonstrate clear and consistent boundaries and ensure routines, policy and procedures are adhered to in the home.
  • You must be caring and have a good sense of humour.
  • Have the ability to positively engage with young people, and be a good role model
  • Have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • You must have a minimum of one year experience working with children and young people or similar work in a caring capacity.
  • Residential Support Worker role requires flexibility, as applicants must be able to work on a rota basis which will include weekends and sleepovers.
