Environmental & Sustainability Manager
Location: North Pemberton (TA6)
Salary: Up to £32,000 + 10% Bonus
New Chapter are partnered with much-loved nation-wide player in the FMCG market who are currently on the search for a Sustainability Manager for their site near Bridgwater.
The Sustainability Manager will effectively manage and drive the Environmental agenda to ensure that all personnel are operating in a legally compliant environment across the manufacturing plant.
As Sustainability Manager you will lead or support a range of significant initiatives including:
* working with technical teams to ensure / increase product sustainability & accreditations
* supporting bid teams in promoting clients' sustainable credentials to win new business
* tracking progress / KPIs on longer term target areas (e.g., carbon net zero / food waste)
* engaging with industry bodies to ensure ongoing sustainable development
* working to ensure communication / commitment to sustainability initiatives
Key Responsibilities for the role:
Environmental Management
* Ensure compliance with ISO14001, IPPC requirements and EA Permit through the operating teams.
* Coach, mentor and train all environmental responsibilities.
* Conduct planned inspections in relation to the agreed standards within the environmental agenda.
* Ensure that submissions in respect of Climate Change Levy (CCL) and European Emissions Training Scheme (EUETS)
* Investigate high potential incidents
Sustainability
* Implement and ensure continuity of the site sustainability forums with keystake holders across the site.
* Conduct audits across the site to drive a reduction in energy and water usage
* Drive sustainability projects in conjunction with Projects or relevant Engineering personnel
* Implement and maintain carbon footprint programme
* Achieve KPIs set for sustainability
* Drive change in behaviours across site to improve approach to energy and water usage
