Due to continued expansion, I am now looking to recruit a permanent Dispatcher for a Non-Emergency Patient Transport operation based in Shrewsbury.
Shift Patterns: 4 days on, 4 days off
Shift Times: (Apply online only) (Including 1/2 hr paid break)
To be considered for this role you MUST be able to commit to start Training on or before 18th October 2021.
About the Role:
As a Dispatcher you will be providing a vital service as a liaison between the Ambulance control centre, the operational staff, patients and health care professionals.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team and I am looking for a motivated, logical thinking, caring, innovative and enthusiastic people to join the team.
Your duties will include:
Planning and controlling of daily ambulance journeys transporting medically eligible patients to and from NHS healthcare facilities.
Controlling a complex operation consisting of over 75 ambulances delivering 550 patient journeys per day
Ensuring staff are allocated rest breaks
Taking bookings from various hospitals and arranging transportation.
Criteria:
A good geographical knowledge of Suffolk and all surrounding areas is essential for this role. Previous experience of working within a Patient Transport Service control room or similar environment is preferable but not entirely essential, If you’re good with computers, can stay calm under pressure and work as a team player, we will provide all the training required to be successful in this role.
Experience of dispatching and planning NEPTS journeys is beneficial
Good knowledge and understanding of the geographical area
Experience of working in a transport control environment is beneficial
Using logistical and planning skills
Be familiar with computerized route planning software
We are looking for someone to work on average 42 hours a week across a flexible and variable shift pattern.
The control room is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Some weekend and bank holiday working will be required.
