My client is a large and very successful commercial business based in Corby, North Northamptonshire.
They have an immediate requirement to for a Payroll Officer to join the organisation on a permanent basis, and take ownership for the payroll function at their Corby site.

My client is a large, successful commercial business that operates within the logistics distribution and supply chain industry sector.
They have an immediate requirement to for a Payroll Officer to join the organisation on a permanent basis, and take ownership for the payroll function.
They have multiple sites across the UK and this role will be based in the Corby offices, performing a newly created role which will be supported by the central accounts function. They are offering stability, security and long-term career progression for the successful candidate.
Description
The Payroll Officer role is fully responsible for maintaining time and attendance, payroll systems, administration, and preparation of site weekly payrolls accurately and on time within set deadlines
The main duties will include the following:
Manage the site Time and Attendance system
Accurate processing of weekly hours to set deadlines
Responsible for administration of site monthly payroll
Collaborate with the HR team to maintain employee data
Work closely with the Operational Management Teams
Deal with all payroll enquiries effectively
General administration dutiesAs a newly created role, this opportunity offers lots of growth and development potential, establishing processes and procedures, building strong working relationships across the site.
Profile
The successful candidate for the Payroll Administrator role will ideally possess the following key skills and attributes:
A proven track record in payroll preparation and administration
Sound Knowledge of Computerised Payroll Systems
Good Understanding of HMRC requirements and Implications for Processing Payroll, online HMRC Submissions and Processing Tax Year End Functions
Experience of Using Time and Attendance Systems to Calculate Weekly Wages
You must also have excellent communication skills in order to effectively liaise with colleagues and staff, to resolve their payroll queries in an effective, but sensitive manner.
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Target and deadline orientated, able to work in a fast-paced environment
Brilliant IT and systems skills, in particular Excel
Accuracy and attention to detail when working with high volumes of sensitive payroll information
