Rated “GOOD” by CQC, Magnolia Lodge, part of The CareTech Group, is a residential care home that supports up to 10 adults between the ages of 33 and 74 years of age with Learning Disabilities, Downs Syndrome, Epilepsy, Dementia and Physical Disabilities.
The Service Users at Magnolia Lodge enjoy all types of arts and crafts, beauty sessions, watching movies, going for walks, shopping, drawing warships and gardening.
The home is a large detached building that is situated on a main road on the outskirts of Reading.
35 hours per week
£9.00 per hour

Main duties and responsibilities:
To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.
To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.
To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.
Personal Characteristics:
Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.
Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
The ability to keep calm under pressure.
The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills
The passion to work with vulnerable adults
The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
