Description
The Assistant Accountant role will involve:
Maintain accounting software and have responsibility for financial and management accounting tasks
Month, quarter and year end close and reporting
Monitor and control the cash position including controlling payments
HMRC reporting - VAT returns, EC sales lists, CIS.
Full balance sheet support and reconciliation.
Manage the year end statutory accounts/audit process via external accountant/auditor
Support and develop junior Finance AssistantsProfile
The ideal candidate will either be AAT qualified or looking to study a professional qualification potentially having already sat some exams. You will need to be outgoing, sociable, communicative and positive, willing to take on a varied workload and manage deadlines effectively. You will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders constantly so strong written and verbal communication will be key. Above all else is a desire and ambition to further your finance career, eager to take instruction and apply knowledge to effectively contribute to the overall finance service. Understanding of key financial and management accounting, month end tasks will be required.
