Description
The Assistant Management Accountant will be reporting into the Management Accountant. The role will be extemely varied as it will encompasses month end reporting and analysis, business partnering non-finance stakeholders and overseeing and supporting the work of a small transactional team. Training will be provided, and once this has been completed, your duties will include:
Supporting the Management Accountant with producing the month end accounts for 4 sites, which have a combined turnover of c. £17 million.
Producing job costing summaries with commentary for the sites and reviewing with the Management Accountant.
Supporting the Management Accountant with carrying out month end review meetings with non-finance managers at the sites
Quarterly forecasting for the sites
Overseeing the transcational work of a Finance Assistant and Credit Controller
Supporting the Finance Assistant and Credit Controller with their duties, which will include: sub-contractor payments, sales invoicing, purchase ledger, cash allocation, bank reconciliations, statement reconciliations and cash control
Creating sales flash numbers for the non-finance managers at the sites
Supporting with audit activities
Profile
To apply for the position, you do not need experience of all of the duties outlined above, as our client will provide the necessary training. However, you:
Must have a driving license and access to a vehicle, as you will be required to travel to the 4 sites infrequently (c. 4 total trips per month).
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience of working in finance.
Must have worked to finance deadlines.
Must understand debits and credits.
Will ideally be studying an accounting qualification e.g. AAT, CIMA or ACCA, but our client is open to considering individuals who are not studying. Job Offer

a starting salary of £25,000
flexibility on start and finish hours
full study support for AAT, CIMA or ACCA
there is initially some ad hoc home working, but the business is currently consulting on moving to hybrid working
23 days holiday plus bank holidays
career progression through to Regional Management Accountant in the future if desired
