Are you looking for a new Import Manager's role? Would a hybrid working model be of interest to you? (Split home & office)

A well-established Southampton based Freight Forwarder are looking to recruit an experienced Import Manager. It would be advantageous if you have Sea Imports experience - but all forms of transport considered. Currently this organisation is based just outside Southampton but are moving imminently to a new office (and larger warehouse) in Southampton Docks (Millbrook entrance).

Managing a team of 4, you will have overall responsibility for managing all Imports and E-Commerce business in the company.

Clearly 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, yet this organisation went from strength to strength and over the Summer period posted record breaking Months - and over the last 2yrs have tripled in size! As already mentioned, the company are soon moving to a new location to help meet demand.

Main responsibilities include:

Invoicing
Negotiations
Freight & Customs compliance
Identify and improve current processes & proceduresClearly given the nature of this role you will be able to demonstrate the ability to build lasting and worthwhile relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

One of the key areas that you will have demonstrable experience in is continuous improvement and managing change.

Identifying issues and being proactive in dealing & resolving these issues
Continually looking at ways to improve individual & team performance
Effective time management, working to deadlines and prioritising workload
Being receptive and positively embracing new ideas and changeYou will obviously have considerable freight experience and a good understanding of the customs process to considered for this role. As already stated, it would be advantageous if you specifically have Sea Freight Imports experience.

E-Commerce experience is also required along with FCL software knowledge.

Salary & Package:

To £40K basic

25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (This increases with longevity of service)

Auto Enrol pension scheme

Working hours - 37hr working week. You will have some flexibility of your hours (between 8am - 6pm)

Monday to Friday - note the company are happy to look at the hybrid working model (Home / Office split)
