Our client, is a public distance Learning & Research University and one of the largest universities in the UK for undergraduate education.

They are looking to recruit a number of interviewers to join them from 9 August until 15 September 2021, paying £10.46 per hour, working 16 hours per week, spread over 5 days, but there is some flexibility which would be discussed during the interview. This role would be working from home and equipment would be provided. Comprehensive training will also be given.

They are offering short digital retraining programmes which enable participants to develop the skills they need to access digital job roles. Typically, there are many more applicants for these programmes than available places, so ahead of offering places on the programmes, they interview applicants to explore their interest and ambitions and to understand their capacity to be able to engage with the programme.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals, preferably with experience of advising on course choices, career choices or interviewing job applicants.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake short 20-30 minute video interviews via Microsoft Teams with individual applicants based on the training and brief provided. The interviews will be scheduled for you by the Open University Team
Assess the suitability of the applicant for the programme according to the framework provided and provide written feedback to the team, using the templates provided

Skills and experience

Essential:

Excellent telephone/video call manner
Demonstrable ability to converse comfortably with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds
Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing)
Friendly and approachable, with a clear interest in people and their ambitions
Good time management
Proven ability to master a brief and to learn and understand new information quickly, to enable accurate and knowledgeable discussions about the opportunity
Excellent note taking and record keeping skills Desirable:

Previous experience of one or more of the following:

Advising individuals on learning/course choices
Advising individuals on careers options/pathways
