Job Details

We have an opportunity to work with a Higher Education client based in Uxbridge, NW London. This is a temporary role, currently for 1 month - Senior Programme Administrator paying £15.11 per hour. This role will be mainly home based but you will need to have your training on-site and be able to travel to Uxbridge for the occasional meeting.

Role

To ensure the delivery of operational and administrative processes that support programmes delivered with external partners, including overseas academic institutions. This includes responding to complex queries from staff and students and maintaining accurate and timely student records. The role holder will support stakeholders in receiving data and information aimed at enhancing programme delivery.

Specialist Duties

To provide full administrative support of all processes through the student journey for those programmes taught with external partner institutions which may require an element of international travel.
The role holder will be assigned specialist duties commensurate with the grade as required to ensure effective and efficient delivery of e.g. records, quality assurance, assessment, accreditation process, timetabling and business continuity within the College.
To undertake or support specialist projects as required.
To support the Deputy College Education Manager with induction, training and performance development of the team and applicable staffing matters.
To provide high level advice on policy, process and regulations, maintain systems e.g. time tables, Blackboard Learn, WiseFlow, SharePoint etc. and support web and social media content.

Student Engagement, Student Support and Welfare

To ensure the delivery of a student-focussed service that is consistently professional, welcoming, reliable, accessible and effective; including (but not exclusively) ensuring that student communication (including letters and transcripts) are produced/responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.
To support the administration of student attendance and engagement routines; maintaining Tier 4 compliance records and escalating where necessary if risk to engagement is identified.
To take an active supporting role in the co-ordination and delivery of College and Department led activities, such as student marketing & recruitment events, Handbook production, induction & registration, NSS activities, placement activity and graduation.
To provide students with support and advice on the rules and regulations of the College/Department/University, referring them to relevant University support services when appropriate.
To support students in the submission of student mitigating circumstances, internal resolutions, appeals and complaints; ensuring records are kept and maintained in a timely and appropriate manner.
To provide student facing administration functions on a day-to-day basis including timetabling, induction, registration and enrolment, bursary, transition and progression, tutor and supervisor allocation, assessment processes, examination arrangements and final assessment processes in accordance with procedures.Academic Administration

Skills:

Experience of working in an administrative role

Experience of Higher Education administration

A general understanding of the needs of an academic unit

Awareness of key issues in Higher Education

Understanding of SITS student record system

Excellent communication skills

Good level of administrative and organisational skills
