My client are a large main contractor who work across all aspects of the infrastructure sector. They are a well known and well thought of contractor who has a reputation for looking after and developing their staff, developing long standing engaging relationships with their clients and offering unique work opportunities across a range of projects within the transport, power and water sectors.

They are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team in london on a permanent basis. They're looking for someone with a background in infrastructure. Your role will be to manage the health, safety, environmental and quality function for the Company, ensuring legislation is adhered to and policies are enforced.

The Role in summary;

Reporting into the Director and the Senior Health & Safety Manager within the business you will be responsible for assisting to develop a positive health & safety culture focused upon accident prevention and improving the health & safety of all personnel on site. You will initiate and maintain measures and procedures to raise standards, ensuring the company complies with all health & safety legislation and all minimum health & safety standards (MSS). Support the monitoring of sites through the audit process, in a proactive manner to address any issues.

Responsible for initiating and leading tasks and processes, on the project, taking responsibility and being accountable for the work and roles of others whilst exercising judgement within broad parameters to improve the health & safety of all personnel on site.

You will be responsible for ensuring effective investigations take place to prevent accidents & incidents, whilst ensuring effective learning from all events are presented to The Senior Health & Safety Manager for wider business distribution.

Requirements

* The ideal candidate will be able to display previous experience in a similar position and have thorough knowledge of appropriate health, safety and environmental legislation.
* Ideally a degree or diploma in an appropriate field
* Ideally Hold or be working towards Chartership of Institution of Occupational Safety & Health
