A Mechanical Fitter required for my client, a global leader in the supply of industrial gases and chemicals for a range of industries.
You will be working as part of a team with a focus on ensuring the efficient maintenance of equipment and assets, specialising in mechanical processes and maintenance tasks.
Ideally you will have a good background in a service/maintenance role within a busy workshop environment. While full training on Company equipment and activities (including full product familiarisation) will be provided, industrial experience of pumps, pipe systems and mechanical equipment maintenance would be an advantage.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter;
Execution of repair and maintenance activities on various types of compressed gas, in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
Hands on mechanical fitting of process equipment and pipework systems to ensure optimum operational and safety performance.
Provide operational support for plant equipment with regard to inspection, installation and repairs.
Perform off site repairs to bulk and on-site storage and distribution systems, in line with relevant regulations (ADR, PSSR), including activities required on customer sites .
Provide test and commissioning support for new and refurbished fleet and fixed asset equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are achieved
Performing troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify faults quickly and effectively ensuring optimal uptime of equipment.
Skills and Qualifications of Mechanical Fitter;
Sound knowledge of mechanical fitting principles, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&ID’s
Operational experience of installation, maintenance and repairs on mechanical process equipment
Experience in fabrication and welding of pressurised or non-pressurised equipment would be advantageous.
Good level of mechanical and technical ‘know how’, incorporating process driven thinking to ensure safe, efficient and repeatable performance within a role.
Ability to develop and maintain key relationships with internal and external networks
Demonstrate a desire for continued personal development
