Description

The successful Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

- Main involvement in Statutory reporting, Tax and VAT, projection and insurance reporting.

- Liaise with the Management Accountant for monthly reporting

- Liaise with external auditors to review draft accounts

- Liaise with external tax consultants to assist in the preparation of the tax computation for inclusion in the statutory accounts

- Main contact for tax related queries including corporation tax, deferred tax, insurance premium tax and VAT

- Review the VAT postings and prepare and submit the VAT return on a quarterly basis

- Review projections process where needed to improve accuracy

- Weekly balance sheet reconciliations

- To assist in any accounts related projects

- Take ownership of all accounts related Office for National Statistics surveys, ensuring these are up to date and submitted within deadlines.

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant:

- ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified or finalist is a must have

- 5 years plus experience within a similar role is desirable (specifically statutory accounting or tax)

- Ability to work independently and proactively, with a high degree of accuracy

- Result orientated, demonstrate effort, willingness and ambition to achieve results

- Strong knowledge and experience around tax and VAT

- Demonstrate expertise of Excel (Sum ifs, pivot tables, vlookups)

- Knowledge of large ERP systems
