Accounts Payable Officer

Our client a Charity organisation is currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Officer, pay £20.07ph, start ASAP, duration 3 months, hours Mon-Fri 34.5 per week, location 1 or 2 days on site situated in Vauxhall, remainder working from home.

This position is to lead on purchasing issues affecting a specific area of the organisations spend (Charitable, Fundraising, or Organisational Support) and support across all areas to ensure the accurate and timely processing of expenditure. To support the organisation's.

Role Purpose

Timely and accurate processing of all purchasing transactions
Lead contact for all (non-specialist) queries regarding expenditure and purchase orders for your area of the business
Ensuring prompt payment and authorisation of purchasing transactions by liaising with budget holders and monitoring online workflow
Managing the transition from a culture of 'authorisation after spend' to 'authorisation before spend'
Maintaining a close relationship with departmental coders and supporting them in coding the invoices timely and accurately
Management of active purchase orders for your area of the business, including year-end and roll over and the review and approval/rejection of purchase requisitions for non contracted suppliers
Provide cover for other Expenditure Officers and understand their specialist roles
Provide support and cover for Expenditure Administrators as required
Completion of recharge journals, refund processing, and dealing with stale cheques
Completion of payment runs for cheques and BACS to agreed schedules
Shared ownership of non-specialist purchasing tasks, such as dealing with foreign and urgent payments, and answering non-specialist queries from internal customers and suppliers If this is the role for you, then apply today!
