Page Personnel are delighted to be exclusively partnered with our client in recruiting an exciting position for an Accounts Assistant which will offer an exceptional opportunity for a a professional who is keen on developing their skills. This role will provide a mix of responsibilities across purchase & sales ledger, banking, credit control and month-end duties.

Description

This exciting role will offer the successful candidate the following responsibilities:

Process all purchase invoices and credit notes, ensure correct prices and agree to delivery notes and purchase orders. Liaise with the Materials department when discrepancies exist. Ensure stock items are correctly valued when invoices are entered to ensure accurate stock valuations.
Assist with credit control. To include; routine letters and telephone calls to customers, regularly review customers credit limits, maintain new customer forms, review aged debtor list, liaise with foreign customer service staff for overdue invoices, provide copy invoices to customers, produce monthly statements, update on hold lists and establish relationships with customer accounting departments.
Regularly reconcile supplier statements.
Set up new customer accounts and using guidelines, allocate credit limits.
Routinely update sales ledger accounts with contact details and correct default details. Deal with disputed invoices and resolve in a timely manner.
Review and post monthly expense claims.
Post cashbook transactions.
Deposit cheques at the bank weekly. Assume responsibility for encouraging customers to by BACS rather than cheques.
Answer telephone, redirect calls and take messages. Distribute incoming mail and process incoming / outgoing mail.
Assist visitors to the business, ensuring they follow correct procedures for signing in.
Maintain an effective filing system to allow easy retrieval of purchase records.Profile

The successful candidate will likely have the following profile to be suitable for the position:

Previously worked in similar role
Excellent communication skills
Be able to work to tight deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft packages
Knowledge of SAGE systems would be helpful although training will be provided
A qualification in administration and/or accounts would be desirable.Job Offer

This role offers a competitive salary between £19,000-£21,000 plus exceptional additional benefits
