Job Details
I am currently working with a Global leader in specialist bulk Logistics, who are currently looking for a Transport Planner on a 9-12 months Fixed term contract.
Hours: Monday to Friday: 9.00 am to 5.30pm
Salary: £26,000
Key Purpose:
To plan and implement available resources in the most safe and efficient manner in order to meet customer service requirements, ensuring all regulations and standards are met.
Key responsibilities:
1. To complete duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and the Corporate TQM System and ensure that all employees within the job holder's sphere of responsibility do likewise.
2. Accurately updating the transport management systems with any changes to the planned work or resource.
3. Accurately updating the resource management systems with any changes to the available resource.
4. Constantly monitor progress of all deliveries and report any delays through the appropriate channels. Proactively anticipate on any possible delays and amend the existing schedule to prevent these delays from happening.
5. Record and monitor the depots fleet availability.
6. Planning of equipment and resources in the most cost effective way whilst adhering to the company safety criteria at all times.
7. Arranging sub-contractors, if and when required, ensuring these are from the approved supplier listing and recording the subcontracted work accordingly in the transport managements systems.
8. Implementation of the scheduled plan through liaising closely with the drivers, the customer and the workshops so any issues can be addressed as soon as possible
9. Maintain continuous communication with customer service team regarding any problems that might adversely effect planned loading/delivery times so they can communicate these to the appropriate departments.
10. Plan the servicing and MOT for all equipment, in conjunction with Fleet Support, ensuring that all the necessary actions are executed on time.
11. Record receipt of all completed Proof of Deliveries and drivers worksheets for the depot, ensuring all worksheets are scanned to the agencies and all POD's are filed within 5 working days of month end.
12. Record receipt and content of all Driver Concern forms, ensuring all forms are forwarded to the appropriate representative as soon as practically possible.
13. Enter orders in the transport management system.
14. Reconcile orders after completion in the transport management system.
15. Monitor all tare weights of trailer equipment on a bi-monthly basis, ensuring all results are recorded and ensuring remedial action is taken when the tare weight is non-compliant
16. Carry out various ad hoc duties such as raising purchase orders, building/maintaining of spreadsheets etc
17. Maintain all fuel stocks for the Preston site, ensuring that weekly and monthly fuel dips are taken and recorded and that no the fuel stocks are never fully emptied
18. Report all safety incidents, claims and non-conformances immediately to the Planning Operations Manager.
