Page Personnel Logistics have exclusively partnered with a leading Recycling Distribution firm in their search for a Transport Supervisor based at one of their largest UK Depots in Ipswich.

Description

On a daily basis the successful Transport Supervisor will report into the Operations Manager / General Manager, leading a team of 30 team members operating a fleet of 12 vehicles. You will also have responsibility for the following areas:

Ensuring all delivery & collection routes are properly set and that driver's scan and load their vans for delivery in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Maintaining on-going communication with drivers to resolve any issues
Continuous Improvement - looking to develop current network efficiencies
Ensuring adequate resources are available to guarantee any ad-hoc collections are picked up either via your pool of drivers or by using couriers/agencies.
Ensuring that all relevant documentation and systems are completed accurately and in line with company and/or legislative requirements
Working to set Key Performance Indicators including:
Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport and being responsible for all health & safety across site and promoting a safe atmosphere in which to work.Profile

The successful candidate for the Transport Supervisor position will have the following skills and experiences:

Worked in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background - essential
At least 3 years of Transport Industry experience - essential
You will have experience in a fast paced operation with proven and demonstrable people management experience, involving direct accountability and responsibility for motivating and leading a high performing team, within a Transport Setting
You will have strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage team.
Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
The ability to do comprehensive reporting, alongside analysis of data is a key requirement for this role.
You will be highly vigilant to any unscrupulous activity taking swift and appropriate action when required.
Be commutable to Ipswich (Thetford, Bury St. Edmunds, Colchester all commutable)

The successful candidate may have worked within a Transport Supervisor, Transport Operator, Transport Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, Transport Shift Manager, Delivery and Collections Manager role previously.

Job Offer

Salary - £32,000 to £34,000
