Assistant Accountant

Working within the education sector, this is an opportunity to work alongside the Bursar and support the daily operations within the Finance function.

You will deal with all Bookkeeping duties whilst also assisting with some of the month end processes as well.

Client Details

The company is based in Newbury and has a small but efficient Finance team of 3. You will report directly into the Bursar and support the daily Bookkeeping work as well as some of the month end closing, projects and ad hoc analysis.

The are in a rural area and need to be accessed via your own transport. They offer a high degree of support and training and will be a great place to work for any Assistant Accountant.

Description

The key aspects of the Assistant Accountant post will be, nominal ledger, fee ledger, purchase
ledger, cash, billing and production of termly and year end accounts to trial balance.

This is a hands-on role and the Assistant Accountant will be required to operate and supervise the whole process from data entry through to reconciliation, control and preparation for the annual audit.

Profile

The ideal candidate will be someone who is working in an Accounts Assistant capacity now and looking to step up, alternatively, someone who is able to deal with all levels of transactional finance and accounts up to Trial Balance.

Job Offer

The Assistant Accountant post in Newbury will come with:

Salary £26-30,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience
Holiday entitlement is 28 days plus bank holidays falling on working days.
Salary is paid monthly in arrears equally throughout the year.
The school operates an auto enrolment pension scheme.
Your immediate line manager is the Bursar.
A free lunch may be taken in the School dining hall when the Kitchen is in operation.
