Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Maidenhead/Windsor, Berkshire
We are representing a Chartered Design & Build contractor who specialise in the design, fit out & refurbishment of commercial and industrial buildings, carrying out projects throughout London and the Home Counties who are looking to bring an Assistant Surveyor to work directly with the Surveying team.
This role is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or assistant quantity surveyor who wishes to develop their career within a dynamic and successful company.
Role and Responsibilities.
* The role will include all aspects of pre-contract & post-contract quantity surveying works, reporting directly to the Commercial Director.
* Overseeing cost-analysis and estimating process against an agreed Schedule of Rates.
* Management of project financial matters.
* Negotiation and procurement of a sub-contract and supply items.
* Preparation of interim valuations.
* Managing interim payments to sub-contractors.
* Regular updating and managing cash flow forecasts.
* Pricing and preparations of contract variations.
Key experience required
* Preferably Degree qualified and/or working towards chartered status - Proven skills and experience within a Cost Consultancy or Main Contractor
* At least 3years experience working in a quantity surveying role
* Experience in design and build projects with values up to £2m
* Requisite knowledge about the UK construction industry
* A current UK driving licence is essential
* Must live a commutable distance from our Head Office (near Windsor, Berkshire).
