In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of payroll specialists to deliver an efficient and compliant payroll service for c.26,000 plus colleagues which meets the needs of our internal customers. You will drive a continuous improvement culture to ensure we operate as efficiently as possible, and proactively identify and manage any risks or changes from the wider business or external environment which may impact the smooth running of the team.

Description
Lead, develop and coach the team to ensure they can perform at their best in line with our values.
Effectively deliver the monthly payroll for the UK teams, ensuring we strive to deliver the best service possible for our colleagues.
Provide expertise to identify risks and resolve any serious or complex payroll, compliance and process issues that arise, engaging with stakeholders where necessary.
Responsible for ensuring we meet our obligations for accurate benefits and statutory reporting.
Support with the management of the HR compliance framework and oversee risk mitigation, processes and audit.
Create an annual plan for the team to ensure all aspects of payroll and compliance, including any projects and associated testing, can be delivered and support the wider HR Operations plan.
Ensure we accurately forecast monthly employer costs and maintain associated financial controls.
Constantly monitor the statutory and regulatory environment in the UK to ensure that emerging legislative and statutory requirements are identified and embedded into payroll processes, ensuring that we meet our employer obligations. Supports all payroll audits (internal and external).
Utilising your subject matter expertise, work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure that any payroll or compliance projects are delivered effectively, ensuring that any risks or issues are considered and managed.
Drive a continuous improvement culture across the team looking at processes, systems and ways of working, incorporating external best practice.Profile
To be successful you will already have several years' experience of working in a fast-paced payroll environment in large organisation, a large proportion of which will have been spent working in a leadership role.
Specific skills required include:
Proven experience of leading, developing and motivating successful teams.
Good presentation and report writing skills.
Highly numerate with strong data accuracy and data analytics skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Calm under pressure, able to quickly understand and prioritise workload for the team.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Able to build strong collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
A drive for continuous improvements and simplifying processes and systems.
Ability to stay calm under pressure with a solution focused mind.Job Offer
