Sixth Form college
We are currently working with a sixth form college in Nuneaton, who are looking to recruit a progress coach to support pupils with pastoral, employability and life skills. The post holder will work with pupils individually and as groups to focus on their emotional well-being enabling them to progress and reach their full potential. Progress coaches provide extra support for students with SEND needs, students in care and other vulnerable groups.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, friendly and high achieving college which has been rated as 'good' by Ofsted. The position is due to start on 31st of August 2021 and interviews are being held on 01/07/2021. This is a part-time position 0.775 fte 4 days per week Tuesday-Friday 09:00 - 4:30.
Key responsibilities as a learning support assistant:
To support pupils 1:1 or in small groups.
Develop and adapt conventional support methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Work closely with specialist support colleagues to help engage students learning.
Carry out administrative tasks, including updating and maintaining records of pupils' progress.The successful learning support assistant will need:
Previous experience as a progress coach, learning support assistant or teaching assistant.
Educated to teaching level 3 or equivalent or to A-Level.
To be conscientious, enthusiastic, and positive.
